Modern Art Kids Classes for Hop Stop
Planning to attend Hop Stop 2018? Sign your kids up for an evening of educational modern art classes at Riverside Arts Center. Riverside Arts Center is conveniently located right on Quincy Avenue. Drop the kids off for class, drink beer, and don’t forget to pick the kids up after the event.
Classes are age appropriate for ages 5 and up.

5 pm to 7:30 pm (Drop off starts at 4:45)
Every child will get to do every project in age appropriate “round robin” groups/classes.

Georgia O’Keeffe–Taking a Closer Look!
She was best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, skulls and New Mexico landscapes. O’Keeffe has been recognized as the “Mother of American modernism”. Students will use pencils, watercolors and charcoal to create their own O’Keeffe inspired masterpieces.
Romare Bearden- Harlem Renaissance
Creating a Bearden inspired collage will be tons of fun and you will learn something along the way. Using pencils, scissors, glue and tons of colored papers, students will learn a bit about color, collage and what inspires them.
Richard Diebenkorn–Aerial Views
In a nod to our own Frederick Law Olmsted, kids will design their own aerial view landscapes using the map of Riverside as an inspiration.
